If you are like most small business owners, you have limited spare time and probably like to get your tasks done as quick as possible in order to get more done in an average day. While some of your tasks can be completed in a matter of an hour or less, others -like building a mailing list- tend to require a lot more time. If you want to learn how to build an email list fast, here are some simple tips that can help you build the perfect mailing list with very little effort so you can achieve your marketing goals in no time.


What NOT To Do

First, avoid buying any form of list from any of the internet marketers on the web. While this may seem like the fastest and easiest way to obtain a lengthy list of email addresses, this is also the quickest way to get your site and your product classified as a spammer. We all get our fair share of spam in our inboxes on a daily basis, right?

While a small percentage of the emails we receive may come from email lists we signed up for months or years ago and forgot about, most come from our email address being sold via a third-party list on the internet. I am 100% against these types of list-building practices and never recommend going this route. If you want a true following with engaged subscribers, make sure they opt-in from your content only; otherwise, you run the risk of destroying your business’s reputation due to improper email practices.


The Right Way

The correct way to build an email list fast is to include an opt-in form, such as a newsletter signup box or free offer, on every page of your site. Since most of your visitors will come from referrals or search engine results, it’s very likely they will end up on pages other than your homepage.

In order to not miss out on a potential subscriber for your list, you want to provide them with as many opportunities as possible to sign up for your newsletter or lead magnet. You’ll want them to have the option to learn even more about the products and services that you have to offer. Even if they do not want to buy a product or take advantage of your services now, providing them with more information minus the sales pitch increases the chance that you will be able to turn them into a customer at some point in the near future.



These are just a few of the tips that can help you build an email list fast. Most importantly, make sure you avoid using third party lists at all costs, and give your visitors the chance to sign-up for your newsletter or free informational product regardless of which page of your website they land on. By following these practices, you will be able to build a quality mailing list that will make your product or service a success for years to come.
